This week was both incredibly busy and filled with numerous temptations. It started out on Sunday with a birthday party at Gattiland, with its endless buffet of pizza, pasta, and other forms of fatty goodness, including a sugar laden Frozen birthday cake complete with edible glitter. I dreaded going because I was terrified that I wouldn't have the willpower to eat only from the salad bar. I love Mr. Gatti's pizza and breadsticks and oh my goodness let's not forget the apple crisp dessert pizza. However, I was so proud of myself, because I attacked that salad bar and ate my fill of fresh, healthy veggies and didn't even miss the pizza and pasta. I didn't even eat any cake! It wasn't only that I didn't eat it, I didn't want it! That's some kind of victory in and of itself!
Then all week was crazy because both the girls had dentist appts and I had meetings after school, and it seemed like there was just one thing after another. I was forced to eat fast food way more than I would have liked. I tried and succeeded to choose on plan options. Who knew a thickburger could be so tasty on a lettuce bun instead of bread? I still felt guilty about eating out, and worried that it would stall my progress.
On the other hand, I also spent a lot of time in my own kitchen this week. I made an on plan cheesecake with a brownie crust that was to die for. I think it lasted 2 days tops before it was devoured. It was so decadent that I had no problems at all skipping birthday cake. I also did a great job of food tracking and have now tracked everything I have eaten for two weeks. This is a new record for me. I still highly recommend the twogrand app for this purpose.
Weigh in this morning was exciting for me, and I was beyond pleased with the results I saw.
