So this week I began a weight loss challenge with two of my coworkers. I thought it would be a really good motivating experience for me. The challenge focused on eating well, drinking more water, keeping a food diary, exercising, having contact with teammates for motivation, etc. All good things in theory. I was so excited to see how much I would lose in the first week.
Unfortunately, there was no excitement for me this morning when I weighed in and saw a huge gain. I don't know what went wrong, but it is thoroughly discouraging. My teammate tried to make me feel better by pointing out that I was very stressed this week, which is true, but surely that doesn't account for the huge gain I had.
The only bright spot in this week is that our new treadmill arrived yesterday. We weren't expecting it until Monday. That thing is heavy, so I am very thankful to Chris for getting it in the house and mostly putting it together. I logged 3 miles yesterday, which was amazing. I felt great last night, and my goal is to get at least 2 miles in per day. It is a little hard because I have a horrible chest cold and cough that acts up when I get hot, so I had to turn the ceiling fan on and also place a box fan facing the treadmill. That seemed to keep my coughing fits at a minimum.
Here's to hoping this week is better.
