I never got around to updating last week. We've been dealing with a Snowpacalypse this past week like we haven't seen in over 20 years. 10+ inches of snow and overnight temps in the -20s. My Siberian Huskies are incredibly happy, but pretty much no one else is.
First of all let's get week 19 out of the way. I was so incredibly down after the 4 lb weight gain in week 18. Throw in the fact that I have been incredibly sick and haven't been able to even walk my treadmill because getting overheated throws me into a coughing fit that makes me think I'm going to lose a lung, and I was worried how this week would go. I tried to continue upping my water intake and watching my portion sizes. When I weighed in last Sunday, I was pleased to see that I had lost some of the weight that I had gained the week before.
Week 19 - 315.6 (-2.8 lbs, - 12.8 lbs total)
So Week 20 was interesting because of the Snowpacalypse. I am still sick, so no exercise, which is depressing. We haven't been out of our house since last Sunday. The snow did work in my favor in one way I suppose. We were supposed to have a professional development day on Presidents Day. Several of my coworkers and I decided to have a potluck instead of going out to eat. I was in charge of bringing a fruit tray, so on Sunday, I spent a lot of time washing strawberries and grapes, cutting up fresh pineapple, slicing apples and soaking them in lemon juice water to keep them from browning. I had a lovely fruit tray with low fat yogurt dip ready to go, and then of course PD cancelled due to the weather. I also had some baby carrots and cauliflower in the fridge and a tub of fat free veggie dip. Having all of that on hand in the fridge was a lifesaver for me. When cabin fever set in and all I could do was mindlessly marathon shows on Netflix, I reached for the healthy fruits and veggies instead of chips and cookies and junk food. It made me realize that I need to start doing Sunday prep work for the week like I used to do. I know myself, When it comes down to reaching for snacks, I will always pick something easy over something healthy that has to be prepared. I used to spend several hours on Sundays cutting up veggies for mason jar salads so that I could grab them and go. I need to start doing that again. I also need to prepare a fruit and veggie tray each weekend to keep on hand during the week. It will really help me make better choices instead of going for the junk food. It definitely paid off this week, as I lost all the weight I gained and then some.
Week 20 - 313.8 lbs (-1.8 lbs, -14.6 lbs total)
